Vintage Hofner Circa 1950's in Invergordon, Highland for sale

STUNNING HOFNER ARCHTOP GUITAR CIRCA 1950'S Model... 4550 Lovingly cared for, for over 50 years in Smokeless home. It was made for the tropics, but somehow found its way to the UK. Purchased in a music shop on the high street in Kirkaldy 1959 as in new condition. Lovely tone. At time of sale, was told, the small white plastic plate on base was for an electric pick up, it isn't! only recently discovered! after all this time, there is a tiny crack under the plate, which has no reflection on the Guitars quality. No hard case, only 2 soft gig cases. New strings. The bridge has been lowered. The label inside reads... REX Registered trade mark. Specially Made for the tropics by T.M.A. Ltd Singapore. Made in Germany. This is basically a German-made Hofner Model 4550 but with improved specification to fit the requirements of the TMA company in Singapore. Arched Maple top with Maple back and sides. With bound f-holes. Maple neck with bound Rosewood fingerboard featuring pearl block markers and double dots at the 13th fret as well. Headplate of pearl and tortoiseshell. Rosewood bridge. Original lyre style tailpiece. This lovely old guitar is in fabulous condition and has character in abundance. Gorgeous! Any vieing welcome. Prefer Collection only but would post at £35.00.
